IT Services and Platforms

BYOD – Bring your own device

We are a BYOD school, which means that students from Year 5 and up need to provide their own device to learn within the classroom.

The decision to include Junior School into the BYOD program means that the transition to high school begins from Year 5. This level of responsibility opens the learning pathways for students and teachers.

Students have access to a personal IT support technician on College ground to troubleshoot any problems that arise.

As part of the Newcastle Anglican Diocese, MVAC has access to a large IT support department that students, parents and staff can access when needing assistance with any of our digital platforms.

For an easy experience please use the JB Hi Fi portal via Parent BYOD Toolkit link provided.

If purchasing the laptop from elsewhere, please follow the minimum specifications provided below.

eMpower at Manning Valley Anglican College means:

  • Personalised platforms for students, parents, and teachers.
  • A place to support and develop the whole student, their academic growth and progress, their wellbeing, and their wider school involvement.
  • A communication hub for students, parents, and teachers.
  • An innovative teaching and learning platform where parents and students will have access to key curriculum information, the school calendar, a unique personalised eDiary, student due work, student timetables, and information on sport and other extracurricular activities.
  • Fully integrated MVAC app where all eMpower features can be accessed.

eMpower allows the classroom to come to you by providing student and parent access to the curriculum, assessment tasks and task evaluation.
