Senior School Teaching and Learning

Teacher assisting students during an outdoor learning opportunity on the grassed area outside the Senior Building.

Student’s in the Secondary School split their classes between various teaching spaces designed to compliment the diversity of the Secondary Curriculum.

In addition to general purpose classrooms, students make use of a fully equipped kitchen, visual Arts room, materials workshop, music room and science labs.

We understand that literacy and numeracy are the foundation of academic success, and these are a focus within our teaching. However, we believe that ability paired with the right attitude is a better recipe for success. Therefore, we encourage our students to develop a positive relationship with learning. This is encouraged through placing a strong emphasis on the social, athletic and emotional aspects of education.

Career Advisor

Students have access to a Career Advisor as they strive to undertake the first steps in their career goals. The College seeks to offer every student the chance to study subjects which stimulate their interests and help fast track their chosen career path if they wish. Talking to a Career Advisor can help ease the burden of knowing which subject to choose, applying to university or exploring other options such as a School Based Traineeship.

Students are assisted in creating an individualised career plan which combines their interested and strengths to guide them towards pathways to achieving their goals. We offer an opportunity for students to take advantage of JobJump an interactive platform that allows to students to explore career opportunities in a simple to use platform
