This year, theatre enthusiasts and students alike can eagerly look forward to the highly anticipated world premiere of The Unicorn Girl, a captivating play written by the talented Madelaine Nunn. It will be a unique blend of music, dance, and drama, featuring Senior Students in a variety of significant roles, including acting, singing, and chorus parts, as well as the talented Band. Additionally, the production will proudly showcase the impressive talents of both the Junior and Senior Dance and Vocal Groups, highlighting the incredible skills of MVAC’s students.
As the performance dates approach, the MVAC community is buzzing with excitement, and everyone involved is working tirelessly to bring this enchanting story to life. The production team is busy perfecting every detail, from the intricate costumes to the mesmerising stage sets, to ensure that the audience is fully immersed in the world of The Unicorn Girl.
Director, Mrs Kim Sullivan said, “We can’t wait to see all the different elements come together seamlessly over the next two terms, as the students’ talents and hard work transform into a truly magical experience”.
Auditions will take place next week as the buzz of another MVAC Stage Production filters through the College grounds. We are excited to see the characters come to life. This gives students the chance to join a Stage production during their time at MVAC.
The wait won’t be long, as the production will have its first performance on June 17 and 19 at the prestigious MEC venue. MVAC is eager to deliver a truly exceptional theatrical experience that will leave a lasting impression on audiences and showcase the school’s commitment to the arts. The Unicorn Girl — a story about a girl who was invisible until she wasn’t, is sure to captivate and inspire, with its universally relatable themes of self-discovery and empowerment.
